What Are Your Rights?

Children have rights under federal laws if they are being bullied or discriminated against because of their race, nationality, skin color, gender or disability.

If you are being bullied because of any of these factors,  a complaint can be filed with the U.S. Department of Education’s Office of Civil Rights.

Note: Federal laws do not currently cover children who are discriminated against because of their sexual orientation or gender identity.
